As the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake, Halloween is the time to get baked! Are you looking to pair your favorite Bask strain with a horror-filled night of movie fun? Look no further. We’re here to curate the best Hallo-weed experience for you!

The Shining – Tiki Rum Cake

Stanley Kubrick’s classic about a haunted hotel does not focus on the jumpscare, letting the viewer step into a world where reality isn’t what it seems. With amazing performances by Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duval, this classic horror film is a masterclass in the genre, forgoing familiar tropes of slasher and ghost films to deliver something truly diabolical.

For this film, we recommend Tiki Rum Cake. The dense vanilla flavors are eerily familiar and nostalgic, A cross of Kush Cake and Melonaid F1, this hybrid is a great addition to the unseen horror in this Kubrick film.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – Lemon Jeffery

The movie that defined the horror generation paved the way for the modern slasher flick. Tobe Hooper’s film about a homicidal family changed the way we see horror by changing one thing. This movie takes place in broad daylight. In horror, we can suspend our disbelief because everything happens at night. Not this time around. The horror feels way too real.

Our recommendation for this film would be our sativa, Lemon Jeffery. What better way to pair a daylight horror movie than with the perfect daytime strain? The sweet citrusy flavors enhance the scares, awakening the senses and opening the mind. Just don’t dance around with chainsaws.

Child’s Play – Poddy Mouth

“Hi, I’m Chucky! Wanna play?” says the villain in this film that made all of us look at our dolls differently. The murderous serial killer turned doll is a horror film icon, spanning countless films and a new TV series. A wonderfully made movie from start to finish, Child’s Play is not for the easily scared.

Poddy Mouth is the perfect pairing for this film. The wise-cracking, crude Chucky would have loved this strain. This indica-leaning hybrid isn’t guaranteed to make you swear, but you’ll be ready for any homicidal doll that crosses your path.

Halloween – Grape God

The slasher movie to end all slasher movies, Halloween follows the story of Laurie Strode as she is stalked by Michael Myers. The limited budget, use of sound, and terrifying villain all add to the realness of this film. John Carpenter’s masterful horror movie can be identified through the first few notes of the opening score, influencing every horror movie to come after.

For this film, we recommend Grape God. This strain is tried and true, and a staple of the Bask lineup. The slow creep of this high over the body is a great parallel with the silent, stalking Myers, and the flavors of this strain complement the dark, dense feel of this horror classic.

Evil Dead 2 – Black Cherry Punch

The first one was scary. The second was a parody. Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead 2 is a slapstick-horror adventure. Recapping the previous film and basically parodying it, Ash, played by Bruce Campbell, captured lightning in a bottle. Our thoughts on this film can be summed up in one word. “Groovy.”

The wonderful plum and berry flavors of Black Cherry Punch are a great pairing for Evil Dead 2. The indulgent flavors align with the indulgent nature of the film, filled with in-jokes and parody. A cross between Black Cherry Pie and Purple Punch, this indica-hybrid is guaranteed to pack the giggles in this horror-comedy classic.
